    Naples Eagles Try Outs

    May 2, 3 and 5th, 2023

Naples Eagles is the only soccer and futsal academy that offer both sport the whole year around. Our teams compete in the local FYSA Leagues SWFL Soccer, EDP and South Florida Soccer League.
Our team also competes in the local futsal league Naples Futsal every weekend four seasons a year.

    Does Eagles play soccer?

Yes, we play soccer. Also, we play futsal to help our players to develop quicker than only playing soccer.

How does a kid that plays futsal develop quicker than a soccer player?

    • “Futsal players touch the ball far more often than soccer players—six times more often per minute, according to a Liverpool University study.”
    • “The smaller, heavier ball demands and rewards more precise handling—as coaches point out, you can’t get out of a tight spot simply by booting the ball downfield.”
    • “Sharp passing is paramount: the game is all about looking for angles and spaces and working quick combinations with other players.”
    • “Ball control and vision are crucial, so that when futsal players play the full-size game, they feel as if they have acres of free space in which to operate.”
    • “Futsal compresses soccer’s essential skills into a small box; it places players inside the deep practice zone, making and correcting errors, constantly generating solutions to vivid problems.”
    • “Players touching the ball 600 percent more often learn far faster, without realizing it, than they would in the vast, bouncy expanse of the outdoor game.”

    What is futsal?

    • Futsal is the FIFA-recognized form of small-sided indoor soccer (the word is a contraction of the Spanish ‘fútbol sala’). It is played between two teams who each have five players on the pitch at any one time, with rolling substitutes and a smaller ball than soccer that is harder and less bouncy.

How is a regular week for Eagles teams?

    • Our teams practice between two (2) to three (3) practices a week depending on the age.
    • The younger division up to U11 we focus more on futsal to create more skillful players.
    • From U12 and up have two soccer practices and one futsal a week.
    • Games are generally on the weekends with two games, one soccer game usually on Saturday morning and one futsal game in the afternoon. Can vary depending on the league schedules.

    Does Eagles play tournaments?

    • Yes, we do. We try to play at least four tournaments a year, especially when is local.
Our teams also play in futsal tournaments. US Youth Futsal Regionals (January), State Cup (October), US Youth Futsal National or World Futsal Championships (July) and Miami Spring Cup (May).
